How the calculation works
Room areas are combined and adjusted for waste. The adjusted area is divided by the package coverage you enter, then rounded upward.
Formula
Purchase area = combined room area × (1 + waste % ÷ 100) Packages = purchase area ÷ entered package coverage, rounded up
Worked example
A 120 square foot room with 10% waste requires 132 square feet. If the selected laminate package covers 20 square feet, the result is 7 whole packages.
