How the calculation works
Each section is treated as a rectangular prism. Length, width, and height are converted to feet, multiplied, and then added. The combined cubic-foot result is converted to cubic inches, cubic yards, and cubic meters.
Formula
Section volume = length × width × height Total cubic feet = section 1 + section 2 + … Cubic yards = cubic feet ÷ 27
Worked example
A 10 ft × 5 ft × 2 ft rectangular space contains 100 cubic feet, approximately 3.70 cubic yards or 2.83 cubic meters.
